The fry-up returns!
Monday, 19 November 2007
Well done to the 16 people who turned out to brave the cold this Saturday, we did something like 35 launches before a combination of a flat battery on the winch, canopy misting and a fast approaching Dusk stopped play. We had a new visitor Kevin who has taken out temporary membership and will hopefully return for his second flight and more.

Sunday was out of crosswind limits, the good news is that the bus finally got fixed! This was with the help and expertise of Ian from Barking Garage and Matt Jones our old MT member.

Breakfast of Full English, Tea and Coffee will be available on the airfield next weekend!

Luncheon of Lamb Casserole has been promised by Mrs CFI

BTW: We may do some flying and there could be a motor glider.

T61F Falke Incomming!
Monday, 29 October 2007

The AGA have found a Grob 109 motor glider for Wyvern so we will be inheriting their T61F Falke motor glider at Anglia some time in the next couple of weeks!

In other news from Gwyn: "This Saturday we flew as usual and were joined by 3 University Students. Sunday was a predictable washout and an engineering day was attended by Peter Brown, Ed Weaver, Phyl Fanning, Griff, Sharpey and Myself . The day started with a full English BF, followed by Doughnuts for lunch and a beer to round the day off! In between scoffing and quaffing we have changed the starter ring on the winch and fitted the new improved more powerful type of starter motor, new launch cable has also been fitted. We also fixed the control cabin ladder and windsock. More work has been done on the Bus unfortunately it looks like we need a new Injector Pump, GT is on the case!"

Carl goes solo... and beyond!
Monday, 29 October 2007
Big congratulations go out to Carl who not only went solo on his 16th birthday a few weeks ago, but has also converted to the K8 and completed the first leg of his Bronze C! Photos of Carl's first solo can now be seen in the Photo Gallery.

First freshers first flights
Sunday, 14 October 2007

The first batch of this year's new university students took to the air this weekend despite a spate of bad luck. Whilst Saturday went reasonably smoothly, Sunday was one of those days where everything that could go wong, did go wrong! After countless cable breaks and loops on the drums in the morning, the pace picked up later on and resulted in some fantastic fights.

Ten students got their first taste of gliding, with one returning student, Lucas, making great progress towards kicking his instructor out by completing his first take off and landing. Sunday's action was topped off by a pair of areobatic flights.

Website Changes
Wednesday, 10 October 2007

I'm making a renewed push to try and keep the website updated and in a good state of repair. As such, there's two things to note...

  1. I've wiped the list of registered users, as it looked like there was a few 'spammer' accounts... please register again to gain access to the message board and photo gallery.
  2. Please email me any new or suggestions for the website and I will make the changes. Recent photos would be good to stick in the gallery too, especially from the socials!

Any probs/queries, drop me a line.

Regards,

Andy
